It all started with an idea…

The Shot Bar was founded March 1, 2012 by University of Missouri graduates Andy O’Neill, Ryan Walsh and Ben Monsees. The original idea was formulated October 23, 2010 with a little inspiration from one of the most memorable days in Mizzou athletics; an upset of the No. 1 team in the nation for a homecoming victory over the Oklahoma Sooners. For the next year and a half, the owners worked tirelessly to craft a bar that would cater to Mizzou students, grads and Columbia locals alike with a unique concept. Thus, the Shot Bar was born! It creatively mixes a variety of over 100 shots with the atmosphere, fun and fluidity of the downtown-Columbia nightlife.

What We’ve Become….

The Shot Bar is a small specialty bar that appeals to the Columbia community because of the unique concept and energetic atmosphere. Influenced by a trending Barcelona concept, we are a small venue that offers those of you cruising the bar scene a place to stop for a shot — or four — on your way to the next destination. The casual-yet-chic downtown location features wood-tiled floors, modern lighting and Hi Definition televisions. We are a full-service bar that specializes in shots and has a continuously expanding menu. Offerings include domestic and international draft and bottled beer, along with our extensive and exotic shot menu. So whether you are looking to buy a round of shots or just throw a few drinks back, The Shot Bar is the place to be.
